Les municipalités ont délivré pour 6,6 milliards de dollars de permis de bâtir en novembre, en baisse de 13,8 % par rapport à octobre, et ce, après avoir observé deux augmentations mensuelles consécutives. La diminution enregistrée en novembre s'expliquait par des replis généralisés dans les secteurs non résidentiel et résidentiel de plusieurs provinces.

DECEMBER 2014 HOUSING STARTS IN QUEBEC

Housing  starts  in  Quebec  were  trending  at  32,131 units  in December,  compared  to  32,491  units  in  November,  according  to  Canada  Mortgage  and  Housing Corporation (CMHC).  The  trend  is  a six-month moving  average  of  the monthly  seasonally  adjusted
annual rates (SAAR) of housing starts.

New Housing Price Index, November 2014

The New Housing Price Index (NHPI) rose 0.1% in November. Provincially, gains in Alberta and Ontario were moderated by a decline in British Columbia. The census metropolitan area (CMA) of Calgary was the top contributor to the November growth, with prices up 0.3% over the previous month.

Housing  starts  in  Quebec  were  trending  at  32,752 units  in November,  compared  to  32,656  units  in  October,  according  to  Canada  Mortgage  and  Housing Corporation (CMHC).  The  trend  is  a six-month moving  average  of  the monthly  seasonally  adjusted
annual rates (SAAR) of housing starts.

The total value of building permits was $7.5 billion in October, edging up 0.7% from September. The increase came mainly from higher construction intentions in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
