MARCH 2015 HOUSING STARTS IN QUEBEC

Housing  starts  in  Quebec  were  trending  at  28,391 units  in  March, compared  to  29,870  units  in  February,  according  to  Canada  Mortgage  and  Housing  Corporation (CMHC). The trend is a six-month moving average of the monthly seasonally adjusted annual rates
(SAAR) of housing starts.

Canadian municipalities issued building permits worth $6.1 billion in February, edging down 0.9% from the previous month. This was the second consecutive monthly decline. Lower construction intentions in Quebec, Ontario and Alberta were responsible for the decrease at the national level.

FEBRUARY 2015 HOUSING STARTS IN QUEBEC

Selon  la  Société  canadienne  d’hypothèques  et  de logement (SCHL),  la  tendance  des  mises  en  chantier  d’habitations  dans  les  centres  urbains  du Québec  se  chiffrait  à  30 275  en  février,  comparativement  à  31 284  en  janvier.  Cette  tendance correspond  à  la  moyenne  mobile  de  six  mois  du  nombre  mensuel  désaisonnalisé  et annualisé (DDA) de mises en chantier d’habitations.
