A lease cannot be cancelled for unpaid rents due to the landlord prior to the tenant making a consumer proposal
The Court was presented with a request for cancellation of lease, recovery of rent totalling $1900 as well as the rent due on the date of the hearing, plus interest at the legal rate and court costs. The request was submitted by the landlord on November 4, 2010.
